This synthesizer is featuring the
Wave-Transition method for absolute unique Soundscapes &
Textures. A very straight userinterface with 3
"Lazy"-Buttons for randomizing different sets of
parameters so programming this synthesizer is incredibly
easy. The Transition method adds a stunning new
dimension and motion for an evolving sound changing
completely it's characteristics.
The basic features are:
Four digital PCM-wave oscillators
powered by 103 selectable waveforms
two filters (24db Lowpass and 12 db Highpass, both
mixable)
two ADSR-style envelope generators
one LFO (bpm-synced)
one Sample & Hold (bpm-synced)
one bpm-synced, pan modulated delay
two "Transit" and one "Shift" engine
Although this is an amazingly
"simple" structured synthesizer it gains its astounding
sound from the Transition method between the
oscillators. As there are even some waves like
Waterflow, Rainy and Jungle the STS is also suited for
ambient soundscapes or even
industrial noises.
The Synths name comes from the fact that it has 3
Oscillators and 8 voices of polyphony.
3:OSC:8
features
3 Oscillators with
detuners (fine-tuning, octave and semitone), 5
waveforms (Sine, Triangle, Saw, Square, Noise).
Each Oscillator has a Mod/LFO
knob which controls 4 parameters (Phaze, Frequenzy,
Pulse Width, or the Volume) + designated ADSR
Amp-envelopes.
Oscillator 1 has an O2
FM-knob which performs FM-modulation on Oscillator
2, and Oscillator 2 has a similar knob for
FM-modulation on Oscillator 3. Oscillator 3 in turn
has a knob which performs Filter FM.
State-variable filter,
with 2 slope modes: 12 or 24 dB (cutoff has
designated ADSR-envelope and LFO).
Mod-LFO can control a
wider range of parameters.
Step-Pitch/-Gate, simple
step-sequenser which alters the oscillators pitch
and volume in 16 steps.
All LFO’s and the
Step-Pitch/-Gate will automatically sync to your
DAW’s tempo via samplerate (BPM value in case of
Standalone operation).
2 Effects: Ping-Pong Delay
& Stereo-Chorus.
Preset-manager.
3:OSC:8 is available as a freeware VST instrument
for Windows.
GTG
K 1 : Polysynth with two oscillators, two LFO`s (one
sync`ed to host tempo), a stereo chorus and a stereo
delay. 8 voice polyphonic. Synth with warm and phat
sound.
Substance
is a virtual analog software synthesizer emphasizing
simplicity, flexibility, and sound quality.
The key factors in
the design of Substance were that it would sound great,
without effects, and that it would fit on one page.
Substance has two of everything: two oscillator
sections, two LFOs, two envelopes, two filters.
The oscillator
sections were inspired by the architecture of classic
analog polysynths, which used multiple oscillators to
achieve polyphony, but allowed the oscillators to be
combined for a monophonic Unison mode. The oscillators
would generally be slightly out of tune with one
another, resulting in a rich, chorused sound. Each of
Substance's oscillators likewise comprises seven unison
voices, with the amount of detuning, and the stereo
breadth being addressed by a single parameter, Spread.
The LFOs can be
used to modulate almost every parameter of the synth.
They can be used to trigger the envelopes, to modulate
the frequency and pulse-width of the oscillators, the
cutoff frequency of the filters, and the volume of the
amplifier. LFO-1 can be switched between free-running,
tempo-synced, and key-synced modes.
A manual is
included in the download link, detailing the other
features. All parameters can be automated. Remote
control is available via host mapping or MIDI learn.
