Monocasual Laboratories updates Giada Loop Machine to v0.13.2 for Linux, Windows and OS X   16th January 2017

Monocasual Laboratories release a new version of Giada inspired by Konstantīns Raudive, a guy who investigated electronic voice phenomena (EVP).

The release provides MIDI learn for plugins parameters. From now on you can let your favorite MIDI hardware control any VST effect or VST instrument: a golden feature for live performing.

Minor additions: ability to toggle hidden files in File Browser, fortified plugin loading, fixed lots of bugs, overall cleanup.

Giada is a free, minimal, hardcore audio tool for DJs, live performers and electronic musicians. How does it work? Just pick up your channel, fill it with samples or MIDI events and start the show by using this tiny piece of software as a loop machine, drum machine, sequencer, live sampler or yet as a plugin/effect host.

Flintpope releases Layercake sound design instrument for Kontakt   10th January 2017

Flintpope has announced the release of Layercake, a Kontakt 5 instrument for sound designers.

Flintpope LAYERCAKE for Kontakt 5, an instrument for sound designers.

LAYERCAKE is a powerful tool for creating interesting sound textures, comprised of a set of three samplers with four sounds in each, meticulously crafted to create audio spaces that move beyond the realm of mere pads, leads or basses. You get 16 presets that will get you started on a descent into madness…

Each sampler layer can be manipulated with up to thirteen controls. Add to these Kontakt’s five standard controls of volume, pan, tune, mute and solo and you have eighteen tweakable parameters per sampler. Adding up three by four samples in each LAYERCAKE you have 144 possible combinations of sounds as a starter palette for a musical experiment.

And then you start to add your own audio…

LAYERCAKE ships with a short manual so that even if you have little experience with Kontakt you can start creating your own dense soundscapes. Or even some killer bass if that’s more your style.
